Ultra-Force N-3B Snorkel Parka

The N-3B Snorkel Parka was developed by the military for flight crews to use in extreme cold weather and is mainly issued to crews assigned to troop transports, bombers and helicopters. But this giant jacket will keep you warm on the ground or in the air. Longer than the N-2B jacket, this model is our warmest.
These water-repellent snorkel parkas will keep you far warmer than a short jacket. When the cold wind blows, you'll be glad to have the N-3B's drawstring hood. The parka features four front pockets plus a sleeve pockets. Available in small through 4XL and in Black, Sage Green and Navy Blue. These have a nylon shell and lining with heavyweight poly fiber fill. The genuine military parkas can cost more than twice as much, and you'd be hard pressed to tell the two apart.
Important Sizing Note: These N-3B parkas are over-sized. Unless you are looking for a fashionably over-sized parka, we suggest ordering one size smaller than you normally would. If you are on the borderline, order two sizes smaller. Ladies, please do not order a men's small and expect it to fit unless you are at least a tall size 12 with relatively long arms.

Captain Dave gets to wear whatever he wants from our inventory – just one of his perks. Well, when the sample of these Ultra Force N-2B flight jackets came in, he snagged it right away! Luckily, the rest of our inventory is here, and we now have N-2B parkas available for the winter 2005/2006 season.
These jackets are super, nicer than the other brands we evaluated, and we expect them to be hot sellers – so don’t be surprised if they sell out around Christmas. These are very similar in style and construction to the N-3B snorkel parka, but are not as long. These mid-length jackets have a knit waist cuff that should ride just below your belt, instead of coming down to your thighs or knees, like the longer N-3Bs.
Talk about warm! These N-2Bs are stuffed with heavy insulation. When you get yours, you see how thick it is, even in the arms. And the hood is pile-lined, except at the rim, where synthetic coyote fur recreates the look from the original military jackets. The hood also zips open, so it lies flat on your back when not in use, or can be pulled forward to fully enclose your head. The heavy duty zipper is proteced with a button-up storm flap, to keep blowing snow and ice out. It has hand-warmer pockets big enough to hold your gloves as well as the traditional sleeve pocket.

If you're planning to be out in extreme temperatures, than you need an extreme cold weather clothing system, or ECWCS, parka and matching trousers. These are made from HYVAT next generation performance fabric, a special three-layer fabric with micropores similar to GORE-Tex that provides waterproof, windproof insulation and protection against the elements while allowing ventilation and evaporation, which helps keep you from overheating during exertion or getting cold and clammy afterwards. The result is a surprisingly light weight jacket that is excellent for keeping you warm, especially if you go from active to inactive and vice versa.
These are newer Second Generation Parkas are very similar but feature the new hood style preferred by Marines in country. This hood was designed after combat experience in Afghanistan and fits over a PASGT helmet.
